Our support groups give people a safe place to learn new ways to cope, understand their feelings, and get help with things like:
- Noticing what might trigger difficult thoughts or behaviours
- Finding healthier ways to respond
- Building confidence in recovery
These groups can be a big help for anyone finding it hard to cope with eating problems.
Pip’s Place, Next Steps
This group was launched in 2021 to offer peer-led support to anyone affected by eating disorders.
The team offers recovery-focused nutritional guidance and One to One Support and later introduced online support groups for sufferers, and designated groups for family, friends and those supporting someone with an eating disorder.

Waiting Well
Our Waiting Well group is designed to help bridge the gap. It offers weekly, free psycho-education sessions for anyone waiting to access one-to-one support from First Steps ED. The group runs every Monday and provides practical tools, guidance, and emotional support to help you manage while you’re waiting for more focused intervention.
Waiting Well is also commissioned by several NHS providers, meaning many patients can access local support through this service while they wait to be seen by a specialist.
