Services Coordinator – £20,160 plus OTE – Full Time 37.5 hours per week
Aim and Job Outline Summary
First Steps ED supports people of all ages and genders experiencing problems with eating difficulties and eating disorders. This role will require the ability to coordinate our face-to-face and online services to provide individuals with the support they elect through our choice approach which is made available through our resources to facilitate progression and change.
Some service users will be referred from NHS Adult Community Eating Disorder Services (A-CEDS) and Children and Young People Community Eating Disorders Services (CYPCEDS) as part of established step-down and stepped-care pathways and this will require a coproduction approach to induct these service users through our Integrated Community Service (ICS). All other referrals whether professional or self-referral will be deemed mild to moderate presentations and this role will coordinate access to our blended and bundled care services.
The role requires the ability to relate to and work with a range of professionals to ensure provision of high quality and safe services. The post holder will have at least two years’ experience of working with people with eating disorders and/ or mental health difficulties and have a good understanding of the pathways and services across the East Midlands.
- Main Tasks
1.1 Lead and Coordinate the therapeutic support service to all ages and genders
1.2 Develop, with stakeholders and other First Steps ED service coordinators, an appropriate personal support plan and risk assessment which takes account of the service user’s full range of needs, using a person-centred approach
1.3 Receives self-referrals and referrals from GPs and other professionals from a range of sectors and settings for initial assessment and subsequent counselling assessment. May signpost or refer those deemed unsuitable for counselling intervention, to other services (in and/or outside of the organisation)
1.4 Has professional responsibility for the assessment, counselling and discharge of own caseload of service users whose life problems and associated mental ill health are transient with mild to moderate symptoms or functional impairment
1.5 Formulates counselling intervention plans with service users and implements them over a time-limited period. Extension of client contracts must be agreed with the Clinical Senior Responsible Officer or other clinical supervisor as appropriate
1.6 Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions in order to measure progress and modifies counselling intervention plans accordingly in consultation with the First Steps ED practitioner
