Kate has past experience of eating disorders and recognises the importance of removing the current stigma attached to the many eating disorders that First Steps support users through.
Her vision is to make it socially acceptable to talk openly about mental health and how we can better support each other through difficult times.
‘We’re forever putting more and more pressure on ourselves to look or behave in a certain way to achieve a perception of perfection, in reality this doesn’t exist. I think generally we’re all becoming more open and aware of mental health, but there’s a still a long way to go’.
