Derbyshire Eating Disorders Services Special Recognition 2019 National Care Awards

Derbyshire Eating Disorders Service receives Special Recognition Award at this years Markel 3rd Sector National Care Awards.

First Steps Eating Disorders (FSED) works in partnership with Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (DHcFT), Adults and Children and Young People Community Eating Disorder Service (Adults-CED) and (CYP-CED) teams estimated to save our NHS Commissioners £500,000 annually.

Our collaborative NHS and VCSE service has been working as an integrated team since 2011 and is held up as a marker of NHS best practice nationally.

Today our joint staff shortlisted for the Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards in the Collaboration (Integration) category attended the ceremony at London Marriot Hotel, Grosvenor Square alongside a wealth of care professionals, volunteers and service users all in attendance to recognise the excellence, innovation and creativity in the voluntary care and support sector.

We were delighted that the judges highlighted our joint work as innovative and of significant benefit to patients, families and communities.

First Steps ED has enjoyed a special year winning Volunteer Team of the Year at the East Midlands Charity Sector Awards in Nottingham on 27th June, our founder and Director, Catherine Cleary, winning the Life Time Achievement Award at the Midlands Business and Community Charity Awards… in Birmingham on 16th November and our whole team are proud to have been recognised in London on 6th December at the 3rd Sector National Care Awards.
